I come from Turkey and now have a Swiss passport. I have been working at KoKoTé since 2015. Before that, I worked for 19 years as a prototype seamstress at the Bally shoe factory, then for six years as a saleswoman in a bakery before opening my own women's fashion store. After seven years, I had to close the business and worked again as a textile saleswoman until Franz Huber came into the shop and said: "I need a good seamstress for KoKoTé." That's how my work at KoKoTé began, and at the age of 61, I even completed an EFZ apprenticeship as a leather and textile specialist - I am incredibly proud of that!
As production manager and trainer, I support our employees in their development every day. I particularly enjoy working on prototypes and the variety of tasks at KoKoTé. I value working with people from different cultures and the opportunity to implement my own ideas. People with a refugee background have always been close to my heart, and at KoKoTé I can actively contribute to giving them a chance. I am currently supervising three women in the first year of their textile practitioner EBA training, and my wish is to see them successfully complete their training before I retire. But even then, I will continue to support KoKoTé with my specialist knowledge - for as long as I am needed.
